New Halal packaged food hits Whole Foods US

Whole Foods Market, the world’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods, will be carrying Saffron Road’s four latest Halal packaged food entrees in all their US stores beginning August, 2010.

The four frozen Indian entrees slated for distribution are Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Saag, and Lamb Vindaloo.

Helping to fulfill demand for authentic ethnic meals, especially those from the Asian subcontinent, Saffron Road is banking on ethnic foods’ 20% annual sales growth, while overall food sales have been relatively flat.
